Italy, the trip of a lifetime. Partly because I was celebrating a milestone birthday(30), and partly because I bravely embarked on this journey alone. Some of my friends/family thought that I was crazy while others thought me fearless. The reality is i'm just experimental.... I felt it was something I HAD to do. Now I know your probably thinking EAT, PRAY, LOVE. Well yes I read the book (saw the movie), and was certainly inspired when I read it. Maybe that book planted a seed. All I know is I wanted to see how much faith I had... and what i discovered -I hope will last me my entire life.
Here are a few pictures from each of the Three places I visited.............
ROME
AMALFI COAST
Amalfi Coast-Maiori-
Wow..... Lets first talk about the bus ride to get there. I was white-knuckled from holding on to my seat, which was a shame because I haven't quite seen such splendor in all my life. The view (through narrowed eyes) was breathtaking. There is a narrowing two lane road the winds through the hills on oneside, and the plumeting ocean on the other. Now I've been to places where the driving was enough to scare any normal human being, but this was ridiculous.
Once I was in Maiori there was a seperate trek to my hotel. Over ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY spiraling steps later I arrived at the B&B Palazzo, which was well worth the journey.
UMBRA-SPOLETO
I absolutely had the most marvelous pair (soon to be trio) of hosts anyone could ask for. Aminah and Fabio were truly welcoming. They took me on are tour of their town, provided home cooked (slap- your-mamma-it's-so-good) meals and were more accommodating, and gracious host. Here is a peek into their world!
Thanks for listening!!!!
